Alameda County Meals on Wheels was founded in 1987 (as Countymeals-on-Wheels) and is a non-profit 501(c)(3), governed by a Board of Directors and administered by an Executive Director. Alameda County Meals on Wheels serves as an umbrella organization to the six independent Meals on Wheels delivery programs throughout the county, which prepare and deliver warm meals daily.
Over 2,200 meals are delivered every weekday to homebound elders. The weekend’s meals are delivered on Friday, and one of our programs delivers seven days a week.
